Chapters Health System Introduces Dr. Jason Watt as the new medical director for affiliates in Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties

Chapters Health System today announced Jason Watt, M.D., as the new medical director for its affiliates,  Chapters Health Hospice and Hospice of Okeechobee, servicing Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties.

“We are so thrilled to have Dr. Watt on the team,” said Sue Surmont, executive director of Hospice of Okeechobee. “His experience brings a level of expertise that enables Hospice of Okeechobee and Chapters Health Hospice to further their missions of providing outstanding care for patients and families affected by life-limiting illness.”

“Since the moment I came onboard, the teams at Hospice of Okeechobee and Chapters Health Hospice have welcomed me with open arms,” said Dr. Watt. “It takes a special person with a caring heart to work in hospice. From what I’ve seen, our team members absolutely have that. I look forward supporting them, and as a result, deliver an outstanding level of care for our patients, families and caregivers.”

Dr. Watt earned his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean Medical School. He previously worked as a hospitalist for EmCare and HCA and served as the medical director for VITAS Healthcare in Port St. Lucie. He is licensed in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advances life support and advance life support obstetrics.

With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Watt brings a level of expertise that enables Chapters Health Hospice and Hospice of Okeechobee to further their missions of providing outstanding care for patients and families affected by life-limiting illness.
