To Serve on Battelle PQM Endorsement and Maintenance Committee

Chapters Health System, the nation’s largest, nonprofit advanced illness and hospice care organization, today announced the official appointment of Samira Beckwith, executive vice president of public policy, to serve on Battelle’s Partnership for Quality Measurement’s (PQM) Endorsement and Maintenance (E&M) Committee. Beckwith will serve as an advisory group member for the committee’s Advanced Illness and Post-Acute Care Project.

“It is privilege to be appointed to this committee and work on this project with so many gifted clinicians and thought leaders,” said Beckwith. “I look forward to contributing a meaningful voice to the advisory group and assisting the consensus-building process that will shape policy and recommendations benefitting all patients and providers focused on advanced illness and end-stage disease management.”
Beckwith previously served as president and chief executive officer of Hope Healthcare starting in 1991. Her expertise and commitment to quality care is acknowledged throughout the state, as well as on the national and international stage. Beckwith was appointed to The White House Conference on Aging, served on a panel for the Senate Special Committee on Aging, and testified before the House Judiciary subcommittee on the need for legislation to enable better care and comfort for those at the end of life.
Within the state of Florida, Beckwith received special recognition from Governors Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott and Jeb Bush, with appointments to their respective committees including the Transition Advisory Committee on Health and Wellness, the Board of Directors for the Florida Center for Nursing, and the Long-Term Care Advisory Committee. As a dedicated champion for palliative care and end-of-life issues, Samira served as Chair for the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. In addition, she is the founding president of the Florida PACE Providers Association and a founding director of the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation.
