Chapters Health Foundation to Hold 5th Annual Hospice Open Golf Tourney

Golf outing will benefit patients, families and bereavement programs of Chapters Health System

Chapters Health Foundation will hold its fifth annual Hospice Open golf tournament on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City. The format for this year’s Hospice Open is a scramble. Registration and breakfast provided by Chick-Fil-A begin at 8 a.m., and tee time is 9:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow the tournament.

Proceeds from the event will support Chapters Health System programs otherwise unfunded, including bereavement services for adults and children, and the veterans/first responders program. In addition, a new patient special needs fund was created in order to cover extraordinary expenses, which fall outside the realm of care, but are critically important to patients’ comfort and peace of mind.

“Our golf tournament continues to evolve right before our eyes. With the advent of the unique Helicopter Ball Drop last year and the addition of a PGA-style leaderboard for 2020, the Hospice Open is well on its way in establishing its own destiny,” said Adam Stanfield, vice president of development and executive director of Chapters Health Foundation. “Our sponsors value the juggernaut the Hospice Open is bringing with an unimagined impact across Tampa and Chapters Health System!”

Over the last four years, the Hospice Open has raised more than $85,000.

Foursomes start at $1,200 and there are still sponsorship opportunities for course contests, hole signs, prizes, and lunch. Back again by popular demand for the 2020 Hospice Open is a helicopter ball drop raffle. A helicopter will drop hundreds of numbered balls over a hole on the Lake Jovita course. If your ball lands closest to (or is the first in) the hole, you win our Grand Prize of a 3-night getaway to a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo on stunning Amelia Island! You do not need to be present to win. To purchase ball drop tickets, or if you’re interested in participating, visit chaptersfoundation.com/HospiceOpen to register by Friday, October 30.
