The holiday season is a time of tradition, hope, and joy, usually celebrated with family and friends. Inevitably, holidays also turn our thoughts to loved ones who are no longer here but whose memory burns brightly in our hearts.
Hospice has a unique understanding of loss, and for the past 13 years, LifePath Hospice has maintained a tradition of remembrance and comfort for the holidays. Lights of Remembrance, our annual tree and candle lighting ceremony, provides a special way to remember loved ones. Trees adorned with beautiful white lights, symbolize the brightness loved ones have brought into our lives. Each light is given in memory of one who is no longer with us, or in honor of someone special, bringing warmth, comfort, and a sense of hope to the givers.
In addition, the gifts we receive from Lights of Remembrance help ensure patients and families receive the care and comfort they need, whether pain relief medication, a volunteer to hold their hand, inpatient care at one of our hospice houses or bereavement support while they heal.
As we look toward this holiday season, we recognize that you and others who share in our mission are the greatest gifts of all. If you purchased a light to honor loved ones in the past, we thank you and hope you will continue this holiday tradition. If you are new to our hospice family, please consider this special gift opportunity as you build new traditions.
Wishing you peace and joy this holiday season.
