Providing a special place for children and teens to understand their grief, HPH Hospice Center for Grieving Children is a refuge of hope and healing. The caring and professionally trained staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing compassionate grief support to children, ages 5 to 17, and their families.
Our center promotes the understanding of grief through education and advocacy in the community. The Center for Grieving Children offers the following:
- Children and family support groups: Families attend a twice monthly group night to help facilitate healthy grief work through sharing and creative self-expression. Inside the Center for Grieving Children, parents participate in their own support group while children express feelings through art, games and dramatic play in the various activity rooms.
- Grief Cave: Children are able to write personal messages to their deceased loved ones on the walls of this unique space where their words glow in the dark.
- Camp REACH OUT: Held in the spring, our annual camp is for children ages 5 to 17 who live in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
