Camp Circle of Love

LifePath Hospice offers its annual Camp Circle of Love a weekend camp for children who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
All children need to be surrounded by love, especially those who have recently experienced the death of a loved one. LifePath Hospice recognized the special needs of these children and created Camp Circle of Love. This weekend camp for children, ages five through high school, helps those who have recently lost a loved one share their feelings of loss with others. The experience combines healing with fun, letting children know that life still has a lot to offer.
Location
Camp will be held the weekend of April 14-16, 2023 at the 100-acre Lakewood Retreat Center in Brooksville (35 miles north of Tampa). Round-trip transportation is provided for all campers. Camp is situated in a rustic, wooded setting with secure, comfortable cabins. Well-prepared meals will be provided and served daily.
Camp Staff
Camp staff members include a full-time registered nurse, LifePath Hospice staff and other dedicated volunteers. Each cabin is assigned a professionally trained cabin leader who assists with group discussions and provides support, as needed. All camp staff members undergo background checks and receive comprehensive training. Interested in volunteering? Applications are available now!
Activities
Camp combines exciting outdoor activities with opportunities for brief group discussions led by professionally trained cabin leaders. One of the most poignant activities is a memorial service designed to provide healing and closure opportunities for the child. Supervised camp activities include swimming, arts and crafts, campfires, hayrides and team sports.

How to Register
Registration includes completing an application and participating in an interview with a LifePath Hospice counselor. Registration is required for attendance. Children are accepted to participate in camp based on appropriateness and space availability. Following the interview, families will be notified as to each camper’s status regarding camp registration and attendance.
