Lights of Remembrance

Lights of Remembrance

The holiday season is a time of tradition, hope and joy, usually celebrated with family and friends. Inevitably, holidays also turn our thoughts to loved ones who are no longer here but whose memory burns brightly in our hearts. To help families and friends cope with the holiday season, Lights of Remembrance was created. It is an opportunity for hospice families and community members to come together to celebrate and remember their loved ones in a special way.

Hospice has a unique understanding of loss, and for more than 10 years, Good Shepherd Hospice and LifePath Hospice have maintained a tradition of remembrance and comfort during the holidays. Lights of Remembrance, our annual tree-lighting ceremony, honors the memory of the loved ones we have lost. Each light represents a special person and shines brightly as a symbol of love. Words of inspiration will also be shared to encourage feelings of hope.

The gifts we receive from Lights of Remembrance help ensure patients and families receive the care and comfort they need, whether pain relief medication, a volunteer to hold their hand, inpatient care at one of our hospice houses or bereavement support while the family heals.

As we look toward this holiday season, we recognize that you and others who share in our mission are the greatest gifts of all. If you purchased a light to honor love ones in the past, we thank you and hope you will continue this holiday tradition. If you are new to our hospice family, please consider this special gift opportunity as you build new traditions.

How Your Donation Helps

For every $25 or more donated, a symbolic light is added to the trees at various Good Shepherd Hospice and LifePath Hospice locations.

Make an online donation to a Good Shepherd Hospice Lights of Remembrance event or a LifePath Hospice Lights of Remembrance event. If you would like to attend a Lights of Remembrance event in December, please register here for a Good Shepherd event or here for a LifePath Hospice event.
