Do you like to read? Searching for a club to discuss meaningful books? On Tuesday, November 13 at 10 a.m., LifePath Hospice continues the Life Reads Book Club at Barnes & Noble in Carrollwood located at 11802 N. Dale Mabry Highway. Created for the community, this club features books that highlight life encounters with illness and aging — especially from a caregiver’s perspective.
The next book selected is “When Breath Becomes Air,” which is a memoir by Dr. Paul Kalanithi about his unique end-of-life journey from a physician’s perspective. The discussion of “”When Breath Becomes Air” ” will be led by Ashleigh Kirsten, RN and Tracey Ward, professional relations representative, both with LifePath Hospice. And coming up on Tuesday, December 11, the club will read “The Bright Hour,” which is penned by Nina Riggs and chronicles her thoughts about living and dying. In January 2018, the Washington Post shared the news that the spouse of each author fell in love after losing their spouses.
For the event, the group will meet in the back of Barnes and Noble. Please note that any veteran in attendance will receive a free cup of coffee as part of the “We Honor Veterans” program at LifePath Hospice.
